Being selected a Minnesota Super Lawyer is an honor bestowed on only 5% of all lawyers in the state. The process is facilitated by Super Lawyers and Law & Politics magazines. Lawyers are nominated by their peers based on professional achievements in:

• verdicts and settlements
• transactions
• representative clients
• experience
• honors and awards
• special licenses and certifications
• position within law firm
• bar / other professional activities
• pro bono and community service as a lawyer
• scholarly lectures and writings
• education and employment background
• other outstanding achievements

After being nominated, the candidates are reviewed and rated. The top 5%, who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement, are selected and the lists are published in Super Lawyers and Law & Politics.
