Steve Terry Case - In 2010, a wheel-chair-bound woman was using an inclined wheelchair lift at her group home to ascend a flight of stairs. When lift was designed with a safety gate on the back that was supposed to pop up and lock into place and prevent wheelchairs and their occupants from rolling off the back of the platform. We sued the manufacturer of the lift, the company that serviced the lift and other related entities in Ramsey County, Minnesota. The case settled against all parties within two weeks of trial for a confidential amount.
Nate Bjerke Case - Jon was doing his work as a tow truck driver and he was responding to a call. Jon stopped at a red light and was leaning over to look at his notepad to get an address when he was impacted from behind and his body jolted forward. At first, Jon did not feel that he was injured and in fact, he got out and looked at his vehicle and there was no damage to the tow truck. The vehicle that hit him was a smaller sedan and did have some damage but it was not significant. The next day, Jon went to urgent care because he was developing some low back pain. Over time this did not get better and Jon started a course of treatment and eventually underwent RFN (radiofrequency neurotomy) treatments. These treatments relieved the pain by burning a nerve in the low back that sends the pain signal to the brain. The treatment was successful and Jon received a lot of relief.
Chuck Slane Case - Patricia was clipped on the highway by a semi-truck, causing a multi car crash. The truck fled the scene and could not be identified. Patricia hired Erik Willer of TSR Injury Law to help her with her claims. The crash caused Patricia’s neck pain to become far more severe than it had been pre-crash. Prior to the crash, Patricia had many years of periodic neck pain for which she would see a therapist and had even had an epidural steroid injection a year prior to the crash. Following the crash, she required a neck surgery. Despite the confusion as to the ultimate liability on the claim and the significant history of prior neck treatment, Erik Willer was able to broker a settlement for Patricia of $145,000 from the various insurers involved in the crash, including her own uninsured and underinsured carrier.

Steve Terry Case - "Alicia was stopped in traffic waiting for a train to pass in Blaine, Minnesota. As Alicia was about to proceed forward, she was rear-ended by another vehicle, causing approximately $2,000 in property damage. As time went on, Alicia began to experience ongoing neck pains and decided to seek medical treatment for her injuries. Eventually, after failed neck injections, Alicia had a one-level cervical fusion at C5-6. Before the crash, Alicia had no prior neck pains. Now, most doctors would agree her chances of having additional cervical fusions is extremely high.

Patrick Kranz Case - Sandy was returning from her mid-day shift on a rural county highway when a repeat drunk driver turned left in front of her causing a massive crash. Sandy, being a stoic Minnesotan, initially refused medical care despite the pain in her shoulder. The insurer for the drunk driver began calling Sandy shortly after the crash offering her $1,000 to quickly settle her claim. Over the next several weeks, Sandy’s shoulder kept getting worse, not better. She finally called her family doctor who referred her to a shoulder specialist. Four months after the crash she had her rotator cuff surgically repaired and missed 3 months of work. At that time, the insurer for the drunk driver upped its offer to $2,500. Sandy called TSR Injury Law and started working with attorney Erik Willer. Working together, Erik and Sandy were able to resolve her claim for $80,000; a far better outcome for Sandy than the $2,500 the insurer was pressuring her to take before she hired TSR Injury Law.
Erik Willer Case - In 2010, two brothers were driving a Ford F150 while deer hunting near Sheridan, Wyoming. The Ford F150 hit a patch of black ice, causing the driver to lose control. The F150 rolled over. The F150 was equipped with a seat-belt buckle manufactured by TRW that had been recalled for a "false latch" problem that caused users to think the belt was fully buckled when it was not. Because of that defect, the buckle released, leaving the driver without the protection of his seatbelt. The driver was ejected from the truck and killed. We sued both Ford and TRW in Federal Court in Cheyenne, Wyoming. After litigating the case for more than a year with the help of some of the best engineering experts in the country, we were able to secure a confidential settlement for the family of the man who was killed.
Nate Bjerke Case - Amber was rear-ended on the highway retuning from college. She injured her neck and back and suffered from associated headaches. Two prior law firms told Amber they could not work with her because she had seen a chiropractor prior to being involved in the crash. TSR Injury Law attorney Erik Willer saw the potential in Amber and in her case. They worked together for two years making sure that Amber followed up with appropriate medical care. Erik Willer Case - "Kathryn was stopped at a stop light in Edina, Minnesota. Without notice, Kathryn was rear-ended by an inattentive driver, causing both vehicles to be totaled. Kathryn was taken to the emergency room straight from the scene of the crash. After trying conservative forms of treatment, Kathryn began to notice numbness traveling down her arm. After consulting with two surgeons, Kathryn took their advice and had a three-level cervical fusion. She made a miraculous recovery from the surgery and is currently feeling great.
Attorney Patrick Kranz handled this case and negotiated a settlement with the defendant’s insurance company, Farmers Insurance for their policy limits of $100,000. Kathryn’s insurance company, State Farm initially offered $60,000 out of their $100,000 limits on the Underinsured Motorist Benefit claim. After advising State Farm they were in violation of the Bad Faith Act, Patrick Kranz received the settlement check in the mail a few days later for policy limits.
Patrick Kranz Case - Brenda took her elderly mother out shopping in Fargo when a drunk driver turned left in front of her. She was rushed to the hospital with a concussion and neck pain. After many failed attempts at physical therapy and pain management with an interventional pain doctor she was referred for surgery on her neck. She underwent a cervical discectomy and decompression at C5-6. TSR Injury Law attorney Erik Willer arbitrated the matter and ultimately obtained $183,000 for Brenda despite the insurer’s doctor’s opinion that Brenda had only suffered a mild injury to her neck that had been temporary in nature. By working with Brenda’s doctors and medical team, Erik was able to demonstrate that Brenda’s injuries were caused by the drunk driver and she was compensated accordingly.
Erik Willer Case - "Tanya was on her way home from work when she was rear ended on the highway in Maple Grove, Minnesota. The crash resulted in her vehicle being totaled. Tanya treated with a physical therapist for about a month after the crash and then stopped treatment because her insurance company, American Family refused to pay her medical bills. Tanya attempted to handle the situation on her own by continuing to seek medical treatment for her injuries. She was eventually sent to see a doctor on behalf of American Family. American Family’s doctor told Tanya none of her ongoing treatment was related to the crash. Tanya ultimately had a L5-S1 fusion of her low back. Tanya then hired attorney Patrick Kranz.
Attorney Patrick Kranz fought for Tanya at a No-Fault Arbitration and received an award of over $19,000, which was used to pay for Tanya’s outstanding medical bills. Patrick was also able to negotiate a settlement with the defendant’s insurance company for their policy limits."
Patrick Kranz Case - James was riding his motorcycle through Edina when an elderly gentleman pulled out from a parking lot and stopped in the middle of the road right in front of James. James hit the side of the car and flew over his handle bars and the hood of the car breaking his collar bone. The insurer for the car driver initially blamed James for speeding. James hired Erik Willer of TSR Injury Law. Erik was able to locate a witness, an off duty fire fighter, who had witnessed the entire incident. With the testimony of the off duty fire fighter, the insurer for the car driver reversed course and accepted liability. With the issue of fault cleared up, TSR Injury Law worked with James to get his $44,000 in medical bills and pain and suffering claims addressed. Together with Erik Willer, James obtained a settlement of $110,000 for his injuries.
Erik Willer Case - "Anthony was a passenger in a van that was rear ended in Chaska, Minnesota. The force of the crash knocked the driver unconscious. Anthony had immediate neck and back pains as well as various scrapes and bruises on his head. Anthony treated with a chiropractor and was eventually sent out for injections for ongoing neck and back pain. Anthony received RFNs (which is a procedure that burns the nerves in your spine) in his neck and back, eliminating his pain.
Attorney Patrick Kranz was able to negotiate a settlement with the defendant driver’s insurance company, Country Financial for their policy limits of $100,000."
Patrick Kranz Case - Stacy was rear-ended waiting in traffic in Eden Prairie injuring her shoulder and neck. Her family doctor referred her to a chiropractor to address her neck and shoulder injuries. The chiropractor was successful in addressing the neck issues, but could not fix the shoulder. Stacy was referred for a shoulder MRI to see if there was a structural problem that could account for the ongoing and persistent pain. The MRI showed high grade tearing of the distal supraspinatus tendon. Based upon those MRI results, Stacy saw a shoulder surgeon at the U who surgically repaired the shoulder tear. Together with her attorney Erik Willer, Stacy settled for $75,000 with the insurer for the driver that struck her.
Erik Willer Case - Pam’s had a foot surgery to address a bunion. She experienced some post surgical pain in her foot and was being driven to the hospital by a friend when another driver pulled out from a stop sign in South Minneapolis t-boning Pam’s car. The problems with Pam’s foot became much worse after the crash. She was referred to an additional specialist to address the aggravation to the surgical site caused by the crash. She ultimately had an additional surgery on her foot that was far more involved than the surgery she had pre-crash. Her attorney, Erik Willer, was able to work with the surgeon who performed the post crash surgery, providing him with x-rays from before and after the crash demonstrating how the crash had changed the angle of the metatarsal causing a non-union of the prior foot surgery. With the surgeon able to then differentiate between Pam’s pre and post crash condition, Pam resolved her case for $115,000. Without the hard work and devotion to her case of her attorney and staff at TSR Injury Law, Pam’s post crash surgeon would not have been able to “connect the dots” on causation for the need for a second surgery and she would have gone uncompensated.
Erik Willer Case - Jonathan was a back seat passenger in his friend’s car on Highway 169 when a driver pulled across the median causing a massive crash. Jonathan fractured his left arm. The doctors at the emergency room wrapped his arm and scheduled him for surgery after the swelling went down. The surgeon had to place a plate and screw in Jonathan arm. He was left with a large scar and permanent hardware in his arm. The insurer for the at fault driver took the position that the surgery was not overly involved and that there would be no permanent function loss of the arm. With the cooperation of the surgeon, TSR Injury Law attorney Erik Willer, was able to provide a written report of the surgeon outlining the permanent future functional limitations and a training video of the type of surgery performed on Jonathan. After reading the report and viewing the video demonstrating how involved the surgery was, TSR Injury Law was able to resolve Jonathan’s claim for the entire $150,000 in available coverage.
Erik Willer Case - Nancy was involved in a relatively minor fender bender on 35W. Her insurer refused to pay her medical bills after she had a complicated neck surgery 4 months post crash. After being mistreated by her own insurance company, Nancy called Erik Willer at TSR Injury Law. Erik helped Nancy clean up the mess of bills her insurer had dumped on her following her surgery. In an effort to assist Nancy, Erik and his team pulled together studies on crash tests done on Nancy’s model of car as well as getting reports from her doctors stating that even low impact crashes can cause the types of injuries Nancy suffered as a result of her crash. After all of the work Nancy’s team at TSR Injury Law put into representing her, she ultimately collected the full $100,000 in liability coverage for the at fault driver, $100,000 in underinsured motorist coverage and the remaining $12,000 in her no-fault coverage for a total of $212,000.
Erik Willer Case - Keri’s car was rear-ended in traffic in Edina. Her neck and back began bothering her almost immediately. Her family doctor referred her to physical therapy over and over with little long term benefit achieved. Ultimately, Keri exhausted her no-fault benefits and was no better than she was shortly after the crash. She hired Erik Willer at TSR Injury Law because she had no health insurance and as a result, her doctor would no longer see her. She didn’t know what else to do. Erik worked with her to find health insurance. This enabled her to continue with appropriate care for her low back condition. She ended up having an MRI which showed a herniated disc in her low back that required surgery. Following surgery her back was better and she was able to resolve her liability and underinsured motorist claims for the policy limits of $130,000. Without her team at TSR Injury Law, Keri would not have known where to turn for help and may still be suffering the effects of her car crash injuries.
Erik Willer Case - Marco was driving home from work when a teenage driver coming in the opposite direction crossed the center line striking Marco head on. He injured his neck and back. He went through months of physical therapy and ultimately had minimally invasive low back surgery. The insurer for the teen driver initially offered less than half of the available coverage for the injury claiming that Marco was not a US citizen and has no claim for future lost wages or medical bills. Erik Willer Case - "Michael was an independent contractor driving a taxi van in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota when a drunk driver blew a red light forcing him to t-bone the drunk’s vehicle. The crash totaled both vehicles and sent everyone involved to the emergency room. Michael began to experience numbness down his right arm and went through various scans and injections into his neck. Ultimately, Michael went through two one-level cervical fusion surgeries as a result of the drunk’s negligence.

Patrick Kranz Case - In 2008, two young mothers and their children were leaving a campground in Southern Minnesota. The mothers were having some trouble attaching the pop-up camper to the Dodge Durango they were using to pull the camper. While the women were behind the Durango attempting to connect the trailer, the Durango shifted from a position that appeared to be "Park" to "Reverse", rolling over and killing one of the women.
