A 1997 Toyota Tacoma crossed the I-94 median and struck a GMC Envoy head on near Melrose. According to Minnesota State Patrol traffic incident report, the driver of the pickup died at the scene. The driver of the SUV sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The collision occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The pickup was eastbound, lost control on the wet road, and crossed the median. The driver was identified as Cedar R. Bryan, 23, of Wildomar, California. The driver of the SUV was Michelle Evavold, 42, of Ashby, Minnesota. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
